Perimenopause or anxiety or both?

Looking for some feedback from other ladies out there. Wondering if these sudden rushes of adrenaline and sometimes heat are related to perimenopause. Sometimes out of he blue, I’ll have these symptoms which include what feels like racing heart and sometimes a palpitation or two . Of course this worsens anxiety and can often keep me in a negative thought loop. What helps this? Any advice or direction is much appreciated❤️

I learnt that the menopause doesn't cause issues per se but can make existing ones worse. Having said that it can definitely cause the symptoms you mention especially for me the heat thing and I got terrible hot flushes where I felt like I was burning up from the inside.

I am well past it now but it did send my body temperature clock a bit haywire and still does today. Oh the perils of being female and getting old!

I found the only thing which really helped me was going on HRT. Have a Google though as there are lots of self tips on the net x

Menopause! If everything that us women go through wasn’t enough ! 6 yrs of hell so far and still going ! But I’ve talked to lots of friends and I think I just been unlucky because I have every bad symptom possible that comes with the (change ) hate that word still waiting to see what I’m going to (change) into 😂😂depression,Anxiety, bad tempered , memory fog 1 1/2 stone in weight in 12 months , detached myself from every one , cried constantly! And I had no idea what was happening to me seriously thought I was having a break down !

Thankfully most of them symptoms have gone ! The internal combustion flushes are still bad ! Aches and pains still there !! All over the counter things never worked for me I ended up with antidepressants! And HRT ! And keep away from things that causes me stress ..

Thanks for the tips Tattytott. I’ll be 49 in a couple of weeks and imagine that I’ll have to address this with my doctor. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what is what. Regardless, anxiety is the pits. Glad you are feeling good though!!

I think I was so under informed and ignorant to the effects of the menopause ! That I just could not handle what was happening to me ! Knowledge is everything if I new more I’m not saying that my symptoms would be lessened! BUT I would of known that it was normal because it’s the menopause...

PS I got two daughters 31/32 yrs they know every thing in detail about the menopause!! 😂😂😂

My girls are 18 and 15 so I’ve been exposed to teen hormones as of late and fairly sure I had pregnancy and post partum hormonal angst. You would think with the advances in medical technology they would have found a way to help half of the world’s population (women) with this❤️

You are so true. No offense to any men on the site b/c it’s not your fault but if every 50 year old man in the world suddenly couldn’t function as they had, researchers and Big Pharm would be all over it. With that being said, I wouldn’t wish this on any man and I think it speaks to how strong and resilient women are. Hug your daughter, sister, mother, aunts, grandmothers and fellow sister friends❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was unlucky to go through a premature menopause. I would just feel spots of sweat form on my forehead and then it was as if someone with filling me up with boiling water, I could feel the heat rise up my face.

I wouldn't be able to sleep at night from the night sweats and I would occasionally get heart palpitations as well.

This was all years before I had a breakdown and diagnosed with anxiety and depression.

The effects could cause your anxieties to get worse if you are fretting over them. I would suggest that you use the techniques you have learned for dealing with your anxieties to help with the heart palpitations. Ensure you are eating a healthy diet and staying hydrated as well. Also go seek medical advise if you concerned about the hot flushes and other signs.

Thank you 20Voices. I sure hope when I’m older and retired that I am able to feel content and peaceful. I think I’ve done my time with almost 50 years of anxiety and now hormonal stuff. Time for this girl to get a break❤️❤️

If you have anxiety already and going into menopause you just have to slow down and that’s that. It sucks. I have both. I get it. I say no to a lot of things. When I don’t I lose weight gain weight get flabby lose more hair and now have cortisol belly. Not athletic now lol. So put yourself first and try to take meds and sleep. I wish men went through this. I really wish I was one fir this reason lol. I’m not kidding.

Menopausal, thyroid issues, and depression. Have been trying to balance for years but sometimes I get tipped too far in the depressive direction and come here to seek support. When I feel balanced I try to offer support to others experiencing imbalance. As the other ladies stated, it’s important that you take care of yourself. You can’t help anyone if you are not your best! You got this!!!!

Menopause can cause a lot of women to suffer from anxiety. According to the research I made, anxiety is worse due to the change in hormone levels. It could be bothersome. But there are natural remedies to reduce PMS symptoms. I found a product MenoBalance by Whole Family Products which has good reviews. It can switch balance back to your hormones, and it is also infused with carrot root extract, beta carotene, and rosemary extract.

Good question! I'm 41 and my mother thinks that is part of my anxiety on top of other things. She was an early bird for menopause in her forties. Stopped cycles before mid fifties and still to this day suffered from hot flashes. She feels my hormones are amping things up a bit. I had my hormones tested last year and all was normal then. I have read many stories where women in Perimenopause and menopause ha e their first anxiety and panic attacks as well.
