Are you eating supper to late in the evening, this can cause wakefulness, it is best to eat no later than eight thirty at night., leaving eating late the gut will try and digest as you are trying to sleep

I also find a diversion helps me to go to sleep, if you sit in front of the television and you have been watching the news or some type of violent film etc just before bed your brain will remain active to long and you will dwell on negative things, this can prevent sleep.

I normally look at some of my books, I have just purchased some National Geographic books that contain nothing to push your brain to dwell on problems, Photographs of things that will help me sleep, I purchased two on Amazon then a further four, my Wife loves them so I purchased four more on Friday. Try not to tax your brain in the evening, if you go to bed with negative thoughts you will dwell on the negative, the positive will give you something to concentrate on. Wonderful photographs, will calm the mood and help you relax. I generally get these books at a discount shown on the book lists, most cost no more than £10 or so generally there are about 500 photographs under title

Never go to bed dwelling on an argument, you will churn over something negative.

Nothing happened..I feel so happy during the day but at night I feel so upset ,sad and frightened

I don’t think she meant it in the way you took it. there is something called PMDD that causes extreme anxiety and depression in women, it’s really scary.

What is PMDD??

in reply to dream123girl

Premenstrual dysphoric dysfunction - essentially it’s a case of PMS x a million. I’m not talking about the physical aspects of PMS but the emotional/mental anguish that comes during a certain time in a woman’s cycle. It can actually make one feel suicidal each month. I know what PMDD is on a personal level as I was diagnosed with it while still suffering from severe PPD (postpartum depression) after my now 17 year old was born.

Actually this isn't it..I feel this everyday

in reply to dream123girl

Your original post didn’t even make me think of PMDD, not sure why anyone else would have suggested it.

My PMDD has subsided, thank you. However I am dealing with other severe difficulties.

I wonder if you should use a halll way night light. It helps me. I fear night because I have no idea what lurking in the dark. Have you become used to running the tv while you sleep? Some people need the background noise. Not me but I do find that I need the weight of several blankets to help me feel comfort. They've come out with weighted blankets which are semi expensive but I'll bet they work. Just know you're not alone.

Purchase a clock radio with a dimmer touch lamp, set the radio for some music or something you enjoy, when the touch lamp is at the lowest setting and the radio volume is down low both things should calm you. Regards the lamp set it on a timer where it will switch of at a given time. The problem in some cases is if sleeping alone the silence can unsettle. When I was at work, sometimes Hazel was on a course and I had to sleep alone, I had problems sleeping. When I retired I used to go with her and have time looking around the cities museums etc, so I was able to sleep.

In the past I also found preparing for sleep before going to bed by relaxing did help, I have explained how to accomplish that earlier, You could also try Mindfulness Relaxation Technique before bed to clam yourself, booklets for sale on Amazon £7.00.

Some alarms can be set for an earlier time, then repeat themselves several times before the waking time, this allows to wake up slower in the morning instead of having to jump out of bed late, or keeping your waking in a more relaxed fashion
