Having trouble figuring out what is worth worrying over

So I live near all those fires in California but I’m far enough away that I’m okay. But my mind keeping telling me it is not okay. I’ve been obsessively watching the updates all day. Everyone else is so calm and just carrying on so I know it must be fine but that’s not how I feel. All of this is happening while I am trying to catch up in some studying so I just feel bad that I can’t concentrate.

I would be concerned that people are loosing their homes and some will be getting hurt

California seems to have been have problems over the last 3-4 years and that would upset anyone who lives in that part of the State especially if you know people in that area, all I can suggest is you try and relax and calm yourself down

Have you tried Mindfulness, Relaxation Technique, you can find books on the Internet that cover this technique for about £8.00.

Thanks Bob, I think I will try some meditation. Luckily I don’t know anyone affected by these ones. The fire a couple weeks ago had a bigger impact on myself and friends but for some reason this one is really freaking me out.

How far are you from the fires, Does the population consider these fires are being set by terrorist or State , NWO

I live in the San Fernando Valley. Close enough that a big gust a wind could bring it into my neighborhood but it’s not likely.

I know there’s a lot of talk about it being the governments fault but I give them a bit more credit. Ive lived here for a while and these winds really are crazy. And I hike in porter ranch, where that big one started a few weeks ago. They have been clearing the brush in that area for the last few months.

I hope you will settle as and when the fires go out. There is very little you can do especially if the land needs the clearing of brush, we have problems in the summer months with heather and bracken, we can view fires on the hills during the summer months.

Try and relax, Mindfulness may calm you and move you on, with my disability I use either the Alexander Technique or the Maxwell Technique they both control pain although very similar

Hello, I think you have a good reason to be concerned, but worrying is not worth the time and energy, I like to say I used to have a diploma in worrying, in therapy and self help books I learnt Not to worry. Here are a couple of suggestions: Worry is like a rocking chair, it is in motion but it is going No where. Also my favorite 50% of the things we worry about Never happen, the other 50% If they happen we do something about it. So why worry? It will drive your blood pressure up, cannot concentrate, sick stomach, etc., etc., I lived in Calif for 42 years and loved the state, I keep up to date on what is going on, it does bother me, but I cannot do any thing about it. Be kind to yourself, you are in a safe place and have no family/friends in the affected area. Know that you have wonderful fire fighting people hard at work, the drought is over so there is plenty of water. Lets hope Mother nature keeps the heat and winds down. Talk to us we will help you if we can. I send you Peace, Love/Hugs...Sprinkle 1.....

Hi Bay123,

Have you thought of volunteering some of your time for those people that are losing their homes? I bet there are groups in your area that are collecting things that maybe needed. It maybe a good distraction and will make you feel like your doing something that will benefit others. Good luck!

I was thinking of helping out and I have with some of the other fires this year. I just have so much to get done because I have two tests next week that I am not ready for. And honestly just the thought of the fires is making me panic. I don’t think I should be around the people who are evacuated.
