Phenylalanine for depression

lillyofthevalley37 profile image

I want to share my discovery of phenylalanine with you , it is an.amino acid it has been proven to help with depression it increases dopamine in the brain so it is not recommended for people with bipolar disorder also some people who can't process phenylalanine - PKU

Phenylalanine is also an immune suppressor and an anti inflammatory it gives you confidence please check it out I buy mine from Holland&Barrett I am only having half a tablet per day which is 250mg

Don't take it if you are on remeron mirtazapine as you could overload your system with dopermine I think.it will best help those who are on no medication or those who have given up SSRI drugs and need a lift

Ok! Thankyou!

Have you tried all the traditional meds in the past or are you going for a more holistic approach?? Sorry for all the questions but it’s interesting to know what does and doesn’t work for some people. I’m currently taking Sertraline which I think is working but my partner is trying without meds and not getting on very well!!

Well it is a question first of all of dopamine and serotonin

Sertraline is a serotonin drug so if you need serotonin that's great but they don't test serotonin levels when.they prescribe SSRI drugs

Dopamine is the opposite of serotonin it gives you a get up and go can do attitude and confidence if you are lacking in dopamine Phenylalanine is well worth trying

Done some research into serotonin and dopamine and have decided to get some Phenylalanine for my partner!

He’s taking 5HTP but is going to stop that and try the other one instead as he has most of the symptoms caused by low dopamine levels.

Thankyou for the heads up, it’s opened his eyes to a possible problem and maybe a solution too.

Pharmaceutical companies have been lying for years.
