Has anyone had skipped heartbeat?

I don't know if something is wrong with my heart or my anxiety is causing me to have this feeling of skipped heartbeat. I have had a holter monitor for 24 hours but during that period I was not experiencing any symptoms. I had EKG and have been hospitalized. I do not know what to do my doctor says they are normal but they scare me. I don't want to have this feeling anymore. Please help.

Forgive me for asking but do you mean heart palpitations?

I have plenty of them. Skipped and double beats. I wore a holter monitor for 7 days and it all came back as benign palpitations.

Maybe ask your doctor to wear a week long monitor so it can catch what you’re feeling?

💜 I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Rlost. I have had them my whole life. Feels like my heart is beating backwards, or fluttering.... I think it surprises me, and feels like I should be doing something about it. When I’m at home, I usually announce it, almost hollering a little (not in public or anything).

Sometimes it skips a beat, or like double-beats, or it goes swish, when it’s suppose to be going swash. Have had Drs listen, and caught it on a monitor. Mine isn’t anything to worry about, and just normal for me.

But I’m 100% sure that IF I started worrying about it — and super focusing on it....that would make me feel worse about everything. Try not to worry. It sounds like you’re doing what you can to follow up w/a Dr and see about it...

I’ve had friends & family members w/palpitations, and one w/a heart murmur, and some other types of issues. All of them had treatment plans after wearing the monitor for a weekend. I didn’t bc it’s so sporadic, and nothing to worry about. Hope you can not worry, and talk more to your Dr soon. 🍄

Hi. I came across these posts as i am going through hell at the moment but I have to say your reply made me smile ( first time in days), it was the way you described things and although it wasn’t meant to be funny, i just wanted to say thanks for giving me a smile.. x

Hi lbiza1985,

Well good for that..smiles are good! Sorry you’re having a hard time. Keep reading posts, to take your mind off things at least for a bit. It does help me to read what others have posted. Sometimes I come with the intention of posting, and then after reading everybody’s posts, it makes whatever was buggin me fade into the background, and less of an issue.... 🍄 🌸 🌞
