Trazodone and vistral

Has anyone tried trazodone or vistral for anxiety or insomnia? I've been on a low dose of Klonopin for years for my insomnia and anxiety at night. I don't think it's doing the trick anymore, so my dr suggested trazadone and then vistral for any anxiety during the day. He is anti benzo. Only replies from a positive experience please as I'm very suggestible

These are both meds that have been used for more than 30 years. For the most part they’re safe and effective. I think you’ll like the combo. Most people are helped. You might feel a little sluggish for the first week. I like your doctor. 😁 I hope it does well for you.

Thank you Doaty. I have issues with sleeping so I hope this works for me. My anxiety has spiraled big time and is waking me up at 4am so I hope this helps me get a restful night and helps my anxiety.

It all starts with good sleep. What I like about trazodone as well is there’s a lot of wiggle room in the safety amount.

Try not to get discouraged due to the grogginess if you even get groggy. I hope you sleep peacefully💤💤💤💤

Took it last night, slept well, but had bad morning anxiety and it hasn't lifted yet. Does the grogginess go away? Having a lot of that.

I’ve been on trazodone for about two months now. I definitely had a morning hangover the first couple days but it went away soon after that. It’s pretty common from what others have told me.

It helps me get to sleep pretty quickly and have a good quality sleep for 6-7 hours. I would still wake up with anxiety but it got better as my sleep improved.

Thank you, I'm glad I slept. I know that is the first step, but this anxiety is hell. I'm on 20mg of lexapro and have been on that dose for 3 weeks. I was doing really well for 2 weeks and then my back went out, and I've spiraled. I thought the lexapro would keep me from having these horrible anxiety moments. I feel like I'm in hell.

Plato, how has the Trazadone been working for you?

I didn't like how groggy it made me the next day and it didn't seem to help with my morning anxiety, so I switched to Remeron and I finally feel like myself. I sleep like a baby and don't have that next day grogginess. Thanks for asking!
