New fear. What's new 😐😑

Anyways, does anyone have this fear or feeling they're going to forget how to breath?

It almost feels so real and you dont for a couple of seconds so you automatically freak out?

Is it even possible to forget how to?

Breathing is a natural reflex youlle never forget it ,you go onto auto pilot when you’re asleep...I have been through similar thoughts but it is just your brain/ Imagination 🤔

I am no expert by any means but I don’t think it is possible to forget how to breath because you never learned how to breath. It isn’t something stored in your memory. Your body just knows how to. I would liken it to when you are sleeping. Or even if you have ever passed out. The body just does this.

No because breathing is an automatic function of the body. You might forget to breathe but your body doesn't. This can be different in certain cases like sleep apnoea, but even then your body will wake you up again. x

Hi dbeck

I’m not sure if this helps but I’ve been checking out my habit of shallow breathing. When I notice that I’m only taking tiny breaths I get a shock. Apparently though as long as you take a good few deep breaths in a day you won’t starve your body of oxygen.

I found this interesting too:
