Some times a trigger like reading a medical article, can set you off because of someone you have heard of or know has had a brain tumour. I had a fear of going into a hairdressers as my mum had a heart attack there, and I could not face going to a hairdressers for many years. Then I found I had some allergies to hair sprays, scents ammonia, and floor cleaners, so I still don't go to a hair dresser's because my eyes are sensitive to chemicals. I think splashing cold water on your face if you feel you are going hyper, and diverting your attention to read or watch a programme that takes your mind off unpleasant or medical information. Some people really don't want too much information. Suppose you have a prescription - may be if you think you need a change of meds you should go back to your doctor as sometimes, you might need one. Even news and medical programmes can make you feel uncomfortable so avoid them.

The good news is, NorainNoflowers, that you are not qualified to diagnose yourself as having a brain tumour. The symptoms you describe are symptoms that most of us have experienced sometime during our bucking bronco ride through anxiety. In fact, I would go so far as to say they are classic symptoms of anxiety disorder due to muscular and nervous tension.

That's right: symptoms of muscular and nervous tension caused by anxiety.

I think you should see your doctor and talk this over with him or her which will give you reassurance. If you're still not convinced and think the doctor has "missed something" get a second opinion by making an appointment with another doctor at the practice.

But if that second opinion is the same as the first ie ANXIETY, you must accept the diagnosis of anxiety. Because you can't cure yourself of an illness you don't have no matter how hard you try.

So no need for panic attacks, you've more chance of winning the National Lottery and that's not going to happen either. But by getting worked up you are actually producing stress and fear hormones which make your symptoms worse.

You're going to be fine, you are worrying without need, your anxiety is making you believe the worst case scenario all the time and this is a prime example. All is well, NorainNoflowers, see your doctor by all means for the reassurance you need but you've a lot more living to do, believe me.

NorainNoflowers;

I was also going to suggest seeing your GP. Get a full physical exam. Then discuss your concerns.

Hopefully you will get a clean bill of health ( medically) and that will ease your anxiety a bit.

Try going to the doctor? When you're in full blown anxiety it can even feel like your dieing. I can't sleep, I live in California, it's almost 4 I've been going to bed about 5 or 6. I had a meeting with my therapist and he said he couldn't prescribe anything for me. That the doctor who prescribes my medication, is resigning her position. She never said anything to me about it? The medication she prescribed me isn't working. So I'll be looking for a new doctor, I was going to anyway. She didn't listen to me.b

It's natural for someone with anxiety to think the worst.. Those symptoms, have you actually had them checked out?

I had similar for years, turns out it was a strained neck muscle.

Don't over think things, go get it checked by a doctor just to put your mind at ease.
