Bipolar & Social Media

I set up an Instagram page ages ago now - called it _bipolar_bear_x because for me I wanted to express my every day ups and downs and be completely open about how I was feeling without being worried.

For me this was the best thing I ever did as not only did I feel a sense of relief when I could just write everything down and get it off my chest, I also ended up speaking to so many other people who have Bipolar and we've shared our experiences and stories.

People are so supportive and if I'm ever having a depressive episode, people will either offer kind words or offer advice for things that have helped them.

I felt so alone when I was diagnosed with bipolar but I feel like I am part of a community now and know that I can speak openly about who I am, knowing I wont get judged.

There are so many negatives to social media but I have found a real positive and something that has helped me so much.
