Questioning life

Hi, I suffer from really bad depression and anxiety but I’m not on medication or anything although my therapist thinks I might need it. I just want to know why people decided to live a life when at the end of the road you’re going to die and all went out the drain. My mom disappeared 8 months ago she left with my dad who I just met 2 years ago. We have no trace of them, no phone number, or address. I used to do everything for her and tried my best to keep her happy and I guess it all just confused me when one day I showed up home and her stuff was gone and she took one of my cars. Now my brothers fell in foster care and because of that my close friend who had personal issues about the foster system pushed herself away she said she could be around because it was a reminder for her so yes she’s gone now. I guess I don’t trust most people so Ive been by myself. My middle brother just turned 18 which he’s doing his own thing with his girlfriend and got her family which he considers his family. I guess I’m lucky if I get a text back. My little brother got his dad who’s not full around but is trying. I feel like I don’t provide the love he needs or like I’m not capable of giving him everything he needs or what I just suck at being a sister when I’m drowning. I’ve been drinking for over 3 years on a daily basis and I don’t ever want him to do that but it’s the only way I could ease for a few hours and be a bit carefree and just get away from life. I’m 20 and just trying to understand life and how to get over things or learn to deal with this with out drinking and harming myself...

Hi.

So So sorry to hear of your struggles 😔

You’ve reached out here and I’m so glad you did.

You mention you would like to quit drinking Take it a stage further and reach out to a fellowship such as AA to help you do that.

We can’t think or help anyone unless we help ourselves. We must come first.

Lead your brother by example, let him see or hear of the help you are getting..best thing you can do for anyone is let them see you help yourself ..

I wish you all the very best. There is hope and things most definitely can be better.

I'm sorry to hear all these situations that happened to you.

I drink often, especially now since it is summer, and it's always by myself. It makes things seem better, but once I over do it, I end up crying, almost every time.

Hi how awful and I am so sorry - your parents both sound very selfish and what they have done to you and your siblings is criminal!

You will never 'get over' it, but what you can learn to do is come to terms with it so you can move on with your life. You might need counselling to point you on the way so consider that as an option. x

You have been through so much for a young person! You do not deserve to have this many hardships. Please know your life CAN get better! You sound like a very caring, conscientious young woman who has a heart to LOVE people!!! Learning to LOVE yourself "well" might be your first step toward dealing with your situation?? Have you considered counseling? Or joining a support group like AA or Celebrate Recovery, or possibly a church or Bible study? Please let us know more about how you are doing. Blessings to you!
