When I'm feeling down, I usually listen to certain songs that are cathartic, songs that don't flinch from sadness, but leave me feeling hopeful. Two such songs I always have at the ready are "This Is A Low" by Blur and "Let Down" by Radiohead, though there are so many others.
But when the moment calls for something motivational, my go-to tune is "Get Better" by Frank Turner:

Oh yes, probably one of the better known tracks from a great collection of theirs called 69 Love Songs. The song was covered by Peter Gabriel.
I have to say, I much prefer having a hootenanny to reading the Book of Love.

As for music that helps me when I am down..at this point there isn't just one song and rather songs without words..Oh and alot of songs that arent of my mother tongue. Kpop/korean artists and songs from dramas i've watched( usually asian of some sort..i am learning languages too so it plays a role lol)
