I live in Northern Ireland, yes probably similar age to Kenneth Branagh, in the 70's troubles etc, those were songs I could relate to, when really down Always look on the bright side of life appealed to us, the Norn Irelan dark sense of humour came to the surface and Lets work together almost a protest song, certainly relevant during the Troubles and beyond, regularly appreciated today [we need it sometimes?🙄] Ask Mr. Branagh I think he would agree!👍

Why Worry is from the 80's, l suppose that would seem old fashioned to you lol. To me it seems like yesterday.
I must look yours up, never heard them l think, old age is creeping up fast, sigh......

In fact l relate to Misunderstood because IRL l get misunderstood and misjudged by many people.
Why Worry has a line about people doing and saying mean things so neither song is too positive

"Shine on you crazy diamond" by Pink Floyd. "Moonlight Sonata" Beethoven. "Helen's Theme" from the Candy Man Sound track by Philip Glass. "Conversations" by Juice Wrld.
"Heavy" by Linkin Park when it comes to my issues. Even "Trojans" by Atlas Genius when I relate the subject (obviously a person) to my anxiety. When I'm looking to build on a good day or just general life, I've liked these:
"Superman" by Goldfinger : I heard this song when I was younger....a teenager. What's funny is the lyrics sound MORE pertinent to trying to be a superman now as a late 30's guy than anything a teenager or a typical early 20's person might interpret it.
"I Got Mine" by The Black Keys : Just powerful instrumental blues with a good gritty blues vibe. I feel some control....and being able to play it on guitar....it's a good vibe for me.
"Take On Me" by a-Ha : I've loved this song my entire life and I have no real reason other than I just love it.
"With or Without You" by U2. See above....it's just so chill and I love it.
"Always" by Blink-182....they're my favorite band and this song and music video makes me nostalgic and happy.
There's so much more, but these are some that hit home. I'll toss in "Sunflower" by Post Malone because that song has been a meditation type song for me. Slower, just easy going vocals. Relaxing. Music has been shown to be a great therapy for pain, depression, stress and more.....studies are constantly being done with it. Great topic to get a chance to share on, thanks

I will survive - Cake’s version
This is all my opinion but the cover has a more of a direct tone to it than the original. Gloria Gainer’s version has an optimistic feel to it but Cake’s seems like the singer has the person right in front of him.
