I started my new job today. So far, it seems to be fairly good, and the people are nice. But OF COURSE my anxiety is acting up.
1) What if it turns out I’m too weird/damaged/anxious to be good at the job? What if everybody there finds out how weird and messed up I really am?
2) What if (now that I’ve got a job) my boyfriend changes his mind about trying our relationship again, and asks me to move out?

Are you sure its not just nerves like most people experience when they start a new job?
Give it time and you will prob feel more at home.
You'll do fine. Be yourself and they will love you. You can't live by what ifs, that will drive you crazy. Just live and see what happens and hope for the best and deal with the worst. That's all we can do.
glad you finally started that's a huge positive in your life and your relationship seems to be going well.think of the good things that you are enjoying and put the negative ones aside.enjoy the ride of having your life back.
First off, I'm impressed and proud of you for starting a new job. That is an achievement - and it's more important than your chattering head right now. Something I use where job stress is concerned is, "I know that I know what I know". It reminds me that I'm actually good at what I do, an expert, actually - and that's why people hire me. It also reminds me that when I don't know something it's okay to ask. Congratulations!
Kat you are overthing this massively. Try and live in the present instead of constantly worrying about what might or might not happen. Have you looked into mindfulness as this teaches you to live in the present. x
You need to stop looking at the what if's and start looking at the positive things that are happening. I lost and wasted to many years doing that and I thank God I figured it out before I wasted any more. My life is much happier and productive since I have stop the negative thinking and self talk. Hoping you find the positive path.
WHAT IF you choose to live only in the moment rather worrying about what tomorrow may or not bring? My bet is that you will be much more at ease. You control what you think about. When those what if doubts come to mind, (and they will) choose not to give them any merit and refuse to dwell upon them. YOU CAN do this Kat! It will take some effort, but you do have control about what you let your mind dwell upon. Don't underestimate the power of positive thinking. With positive thinking you are far more likely to get positive results. Congrats on having a good start at the new job, you got this!
