Started my new job today and like any new job the first day was hectic. But not only was it hectic because it was the first day the atmosphere I work in is full of chaos which triggered my anxiety to the highest level.the good news is I got through the day took a lot of deep cleansing breaths and just kept going. The bad news is I have to keep this job because I am self supportive and really have no other choice but to work. I'm going to give it two weeks and hopefully things settle and my anxiety doesn't kill me. I guess I could keep putting resumes out for other jobs as well it's just the people in my life are not very supportive and their attitude is I'm never happy with any job they don't just seem to understand what itmeans to have anxiety issues. I can't function at a job or anywhere else for that matter , so my question is what's the right way to handle this anybody have any advice?

Hi there I presume you've just started a new job after being unemployed for some time! It's common to feel anxious in time it will reduce to the point where you will wonder what's the fuss have you ever tried relaxation therapy which you can find on Google or any of the other search engines! I truelly wish you well all the best david

I think you need to give any new job time to settle in. I am sure it won't seem so chaotic when you know what you are doing. x

I can relate to this. I was just emailing a friend about how chaotic the environment I work in is. I've been there two years. I work in a small office and when people start to get loud with each other and argue my focus goes out the window.

I usually just take a walk to the bathroom.

I try to do my job and get out of there.

It's not the environment I would like but I need the job. I do the best I can to tune them out.

I do have to say it was worse when I started. You do have to give yourself adjustment time to anything new. My anxiety kept telling me just to quit. I kept at it though. I know the job now. It's just the atmosphere that sets me off. Today I'm going to play some meditation music at my desk. I'm hoping that will drown out the chaos.

Thank you and I do agree I know it's going to take some time to adjust to my new job. I am a catering associate at my cities hospital. The days are long 12 hours three days in a row. And the kitchen is crazy but I like the work so I'm going to hang in there and I like being around people trying to make them feel better delivering their males and smiling .

That's a great job. The patients appreciate someone that come in with a smile and some conversation. It means a lot to people.

3 12 hour shifts is a lot. I did it for years on the night end.

But think of those four days off

Best of luck. I hope things work out well for you.
