Severe social anxiety

I’ve been struggling really badly recently with my social anxiety, it’s ruining my life and my sense of self worth is at an all time low. I started a new job back in January and my anxiety has been so bad I haven’t been able to connect with any of my new colleagues and now they’ve pretty much stopped trying to talk to me altogether. I’m only in this place until September when I begin teacher training but my lack of people skills in a straightforward office job is making me seriously question how capable I would be in a teaching environment where good people skills are a necessity of the job. I’ve tried counselling back when I was in uni but it didn’t do me much good and I basically just sat and cried my way through every session. If anyone has any advice on what I can do to ease my anxiety or offer some support if you’ve been in a similar situation I’d be very grateful!

Many people find that the antidepressant medication Effexor is very helpful in reducing social anxiety. It's certainly worth considering. Talk to your doctor and see what he thinks maybe. Good luck to you. Be well.
