Pristiq (SNRI) increase dose/increase depression question

Has anyone ever increased their dose of pristiq (SNRI) and then within a couple days had a drastic increase in depression and suicidal ideation? I have been on it for a while at 50mg and doing pretty well (and no other med has ever been effective so this was huge to find pristiq) but then I went up to 100mg and had a huge increase in my symptoms. I went back down and got better and then a couple months later my psychiatrist and I decided to try going up again in case the first time was due to environmental/non-medicine related stuff, but it's happening again. Obviously I'm going back down to 50mg and there seems to be a pattern, but from what my Dr says and what I know from antidepressants, this is really unusual. Sometimes people have a spike in anxiety but rarely depression. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks!

I have been on the same medicine for 4 years, I recently increase my dosage and my charts were off the wall with anxiety and depression. My depression multiplied by 4. When I spoke with my doctor some medicines don't react well with peoples bodies and can do the exact opposite of what they are supposed to do (stupid). I recently have switch my medication. Unfortunately, sometimes it is just trial and error of what works best with your body. Don't give up if a medicine doesn't work like it is supposed to!

Doing better now! Try to talk with your doctor to see if you are on the right medication! I hope you get better!
