Deep, dark depression

Has anyone here ever pulled themselves out of a deep, dark depression? I have been suffering for 3 years now since a traumatic event. Multiple doctors, meds, etc and I am no better off. I am 62 years old and had just retired when this occurred. Though I don’t want to die, living is becoming very difficult despite having it all...great husband, kids, etc... Thanks

Please share your secret. I dread getting up every day. Though I know my family would be devastated if I left, right now I see no way out.

Years of therapies. Self help books, yoga meditation, and some meds

Thank you....meditation seems to help me at times. I have been taking sertraline for 5 months, it has helped my anxiety but my depression is still quite bad...no motivation to do the things I once loved. Dr suggested something called risperidone but I am petrified of anti psychotics..

How has it helped you? Heard you can get tremors.

I take half a milligram of it to help me fall asleep as it causes drowsiness

It has really help calm my anxiety. I haven’t really had any side effects other than being tired
