Hello all,
I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about 5 weeks and I’m not seeing improvement in my depression. I’m on 75mg. My doctor said I should increase it. I did that for a couple days but felt agitated. Should I try again, or try another drug, lexapro?
Hello all,
I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about 5 weeks and I’m not seeing improvement in my depression. I’m on 75mg. My doctor said I should increase it. I did that for a couple days but felt agitated. Should I try again, or try another drug, lexapro?
Gosh Coral, this is such an individual choice. I had a horrible time on Lexapro but other people swear by it. If you're only experiencing agitation and it's not over the top, maybe stick it our with Wellbutrin for a bit more time? Do you like / trust your doctor?
Well the clinical pharmacist suggested another option to Wellbutrin because I said it wasn’t helping me, then my doc reviewed that prescription. I didn’t speak with him unfortunately. I trust him ok I guess, I’m skeptical of doctors in general so that’s a loaded question. I’ll think about it some more...
As it can take up to 6 weeks for any meds to get fully into your system, including an increase you need to give it more time if you can bear the problems in the meantime.
If you can't or your symptoms don't improve then go back to your doctor and ask for a change.
I had to try 2 before I found sertraline which works well for me. x
Everybody is different, so I can’t really give much advice. Wellbutrin was bad for me, but that doesn’t mean it will be bad for you. I did okay with Lexapro for a couple of years, but I seemed to develop a tolerance for it - it didn’t seem to work as well - and I needed to switch.
Ok, I tried to increase the Wellbutrin once again and couldn’t sleep all night so I decided to start taking Lexapro. I just took the first dose.
