Try Tums, but seperate by at least an hour after taking your meds. Should help....Hope your body adjusts to the meds and it probably will . Good luck and a hug

Yeah so I took it with a Prilosec. I will remember that for tomorrow

I’m not sure. But I do have to take something for heartburn everyday. I’m on Cymbalta.

Yeah so now I’m gassy. Anyway I can handle that side effect. All in all I feel pretty good.

Hi Anxiousdude, I don't remember hving any side effects when starting Lexapro

but then again, it's been almost 5 years. For me, it's been the best and only drug

I am on now for anxiety. I wish you the same. :)

Actually so far so good. I can handle that and it could just be my anxiety.

Hi anxiousdude, sorry you are going through that. I had pretty bad heartburn/acid starting about 2-3 months ago when my anxiety was peaked. My doctor told me that it can be anxiety related because we get so worked up. I was also starting new medicines then, so it was hard to tell who the true culprit was behind it or if it was a combination of the two. Either way, I now take omeprazole(sorry if that's spelled wrong) for acid at the beginning of the day, one hour before eating/drinking anything per doctors orders. It has helped to the point where I am no longer chomping down tums every day- although tums saved the day many times, too. Mylanta and Tums really helped me during bad acid reflux and heartburn episodes. I hope this clears up for you soon!

I was actually thinking it was anxiety related because my stomachs started getting messed up last week and it was a very stressful week.

Sometimes it feels like everything is "anxiety-related". Has the prilosec helped you?

Yes it worked. Still a little gassy. Nothing too crazy

Hey that's good! Minus the gassy part. I'm glad it's working and I hope it continues to work :)

Yeah the everything is anxiety related is so bizarre but I’m finding for the most part that it’s true. I never thought this stuff was real until it happened to me

I agree, the body has a very real response to anxiety- most of which are negative. I never knew I was having panic attacks until my doctor told me what they were and referred me to a psychiatrist. I learned so much about anxiety and panic disorder. No one in my immediate family expressed having anxiety or panic attacks, so I didn't know that's what it was until it became an issue for me where I literally thought I was dying (impending doom feeling).

Yeah me too. I literally thought I was dying. It started out with palpitations, diziniss and shortness of breath. I’ve had my stymptoms change over the last year and a half. At least now I am out of bed and functioning. Oh yeah and not dead lol. I still struggle though

Definitely. Any day out of bed and being able to function is definite growth. Lol, yes, I completely understand. It has gotten better over time for me, so I hope that happens with you.

I’m going through the same thing with acid reflux. Never had the issue before and my anxiety was getting worse and then the acid reflux started. I’m taking omeprazole now. Did you find the acid reflux goes away when your anxiety isn’t as high? I’d prefer not to stay on the omeprazole. I feel like it wrecking havoc on my throat. My dr has me take it 30 mins before dinner.

Hey busymama, I am sorry you are going through this. Yes, I noticed the acid reflux goes away when my anxiety isn't high. I don't take Omeprazole every day like I used to, now that my anxiety is more under control.
