Hello everyone! I hope all is well. I'm pretty new to the community and here's a little bit about my life:
I am from a big city, born to parents who are from the Caribbean. I have one brother, 2 step brothers, 2 step sisters and 1 nephew.
In 2005, I lost my mother to illness when I was 18 and still in high school. However, I managed to graduate from high school and moved to another state the following year to have a fresh start and be with my father and family members. A few years later after working from one dead-end job to the next, I managed to go to college, earn my AA degree in human services in 2013, then transferred to another college to earn a bachelors in social work in 2014. Sadly, I had to take a leave of absence which I eventually withdrew from the college due to financial problems in 2017.
As the years rolled by, 2016 had to be the worst year of my life. I felt rattled, although I couldn't put my finger on it. I couldn't concentrate on my studies, stuck working for little pay, and worrying about me and my future the most on top of other personal/family issues. I was very depressive that year, but was not formally diagnosed.
Looking into 2019, there are days where I'm up and then I'm down. However, there are most days where I'm down constantly recently, along with other things that are going on in my life. However, I have been encouraged by my cousin and other family members to get some help and I plan on doing so.
With that being said, I look forward to getting to know all of you!
Signed,
White Rose
