Why does depression hurt so much? I’m miserable at times and can’t keep myself in a good mood for the life of me? Any ideas please.?

It hurts so much because your brain has a chemical imbalance, and is not functioning properly. That's why I hope you are seeking medical treatment for your illness.

I wish I can give you answers that will help you feel better. I can understand how you are feeling right now. The unanswered question and the uncertainties of what might happen. I know it may feel so bad sometime that you can’t even shake yourself of the hurt and the feeling. But don’t give up hope. You have survived it up till now, meaning you’ve got what it takes to go through and deal with this. Sometimes keeping busy can serve as distractions. I’ve found that it effects everything In my life. Sometimes it’s to the point that I can’t concentrate which can effect things like work as well. The important thing is that you know you aren’t alone in this! I can’t stress enough the help I’ve gotten from really good therapy, even if I have to speak about something I don’t like, it can still uncover the issues of why things can get so bad.
