Hey guys, this is my first post here so don't wanna hit you with all my problems straight away! Since I moved school for sixth form last year I haven't really made any new friends as all the social groups were already formed. I consider myself to be a decent person, but people just don't bother looking past my appearance and shyness. I really think that if I had a couple stable friendships it would be a lot easier for me to cope with my mental health and I currently bottle things up as I don't have anyone to talk to. Hey jazzpw! I can relate to what you are currently experiencing! I have struggled with social anxiety, which often made it diffcult for me to forge meaningful relationships with others. (And that certainly can exacerbate the feelings of loneliness/hopelessness/discomfort/etc. that accompany mental health struggles.) I would love to get to know you further--and you don't sound desperate!! I understand how you feel and have absolutely been there--I think it is phenomenally brave of you to recognize what you need/want, and to put yourself out there in this way!
