Losing interest in everything

Depression has made a huge affect in my life and definitely not in a good way. I’m 19 (20 in a few months) but growing up I used to love to draw/doodle/color all that stuff then as I kept getting older I stopped and it would be rare when I’d draw and all that. So when I was probs in middle school or freshman year that I realized my depression was just going down hill bc I lost interest in art and I loved art so much I guess that’s why I fell in love with doing my makeup and watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, then I knew that I wanted to be a cosmetologist. After finishing senior year my mind was still set on going to beauty school.. few months later after telling myself to sign up for beauty school over and over, I just never did bc I lost motivation. I didn’t want to do anything. I’m always exhausted mostly mentally which then turns into psychically exhausted. Now I don’t even know what I want a career in. I go back and forth with saying I still ant to be a cosmetologist, but having to be with ppl all the time lowkey scares me bc I’m not good at being social bc of my anxiety. My entire life I’ve always been shy and I still am except it’s gone down a bit, but it turned into social anxiety and anxiety in general bc I don’t do well in front of ppl or being in big crowds. I feel like everyone is alwayssss watching what I say or do. I feel like I’m being judged. I just need help figuring out what to do with my depression. I haven’t been diagnosed by a doctor of these things but my therapist from a year ago told me that I do have signs on depression. It sucks and I wanna get tested for these mental illnesses, but I just don’t even push myself to actually do it. I lose interest so fast bc of my depression.

You can go see a psychiatrist, they will find out the diagnoses and medication. If you are not seeing a therapist, you can go to a therapist. The good ones are good at seeing what your diagnoses. I have my general practitioner doing my medication and see a therapists. Before this I went through a 6 week group therapy program which helped a lot. I hope this helps you.

You do have us here. ❤️ . We will listen.

Hi I know how difficult to seek help when you are suffering from depression, but you must force yourself to get a firm diagnosis and advice from a medical professional. If you don't you run the risk of it getting worse which will not only negatively impact your life more and take longer to deal with.

Fight your depressive thoughts and understand they are false ones and make that appointment and keep it. x
