I have it, its fairly common for people with anxiety/stress issues. A lot of the time we are unaware we are clenching our jaws or we are grinding our teeth in our sleep. A mouth guard awhile sleeping helps. And of course reducing anxiety & stress helps.Hope this helps a bit.

Do u think it can go away permanently I don't clenched my teeth doe but I did have bad headaches and I kept popping my neck well now I think about it it is near my jaw.butt do you think it will go away permanently

Yes i have it. It has gotten worse the last few years but I do clentch my jaws when im stressed or sleeping. I was referred to an oral surgeon last year but i never went bc it didnt bother me much then. I was referred bc my jaw on my right wont open all the way(although no one other than a dr can tell). Now I can hear it clicking all the time and sometimes it feels like my jaw is going to lock in place. Its only painful every now and then though. I definitely notice more during cold weather. I get a throbbing pain from my jaw to my temple that gives me a headache as well. But it isnt a constant pain so i have never really done anything about it, I just take ibuprofen. But if it is ongoing pain or bothering you, i would talk to your dr

I’ve had this for 20 years. It I don’t wear my mouth guard at night, it feels like I’ve been punched in the head the next morning, but with the mouth guard there are no issues. You simply need to tell your dentist and get fitted for a mouth guard. They are expensive, in the range of $500-$1000 , but it is a necessity obviously. They are uncomfortable at first, but don’t worry you will quickly get used to it.

Good luck

The pain will go away 100% once you start wearing a mouth guard so don’t stress it. You may have TMJ but the main issue I’m guessing is actually called Bruxism, which means you’re clenching and grinding your teeth. Trust me when I tell you it just becomes part of your daily routine, as is brushing your teeth before bed, and you don’t even notice it’s there. It will feel uncomfortable but after 3 days to a week and then you won’t notice you’re wearing it at all. Go see your dentist! Take care

I have had it. A mouth guard at night will keep you from clenching your jaws. Hot compresses help with the pain as well as Advil. A dentist can help diagnose it and give you ideas for treatment.
