Hello I am a teenager suffering through social anxiety and I have to give a speech. Any tips for not speaking really fast/remaining calm in front of about 30 of my peers?

Hi "Unable" one of the tricks that someone once told me with public speaking,
is focusing on the area above the heads of your audience. They can't tell that
you are doing that. It will look like you are directly looking at each one of them.
OR... you can pick one close person to look directly at who will smile and give you
the nod that you are doing okay.
As for not speaking too fast, allow yourself time to pause while you take a deep breath
as you do that you can smile. You will put yourself at ease as well as your peers.
Good Luck, You can do this. xx
hi there,my advice would be to concentrate on what your talking about and believe in whatever you are saying, then the audience will be more absorbed,i do understand your apprehension, but even well known people can get very nervous.good luck.
hi make sure you practice the speech a few times.dont bury your head in the speech stand straight with the speech at arms length giving a confident assured stance.take you time so people grasp what your saying maybe even chew on a sneaky bit of gum as well.all the best.
Yes write down a few prompts for the structure of your speech, then practice it in your brain. It will come out different every time but that's o.k.
You start a good speech by telling people what you are going to tell them, you go ahead and tell them and then you finish the speech by reminding them what you have just told them
Good luck, it's going to go fine.
I like to treat a speech like a conversation. Always leave a slight pause for someone who may want to interject, even though in this case, no one will
