Hey all, before I head off to watch Islanders vs. Blackhawks, I thought I'd share something that I always go to when I'm depressed, anxious, or anything else in that vein.
Comedy. It can soothe the angriest of beasts, and lift the spirits of the severely depressed. It has gotten me out of more depressed mindsets than I care to count. So, I'm giving all those who need a little pick-me-up on this Tuesday this little gem. It's from a British radio show from the 1950's called 'The Goon Show' (if you've never heard of it, head over to Wikipedia and read up on it. You'd be surprised how influential this show was!) It starred Spike Milligan, Harry Secombe and Peter Sellers (a name most would recognize if you've ever seen any of the early "Pink Panther" movies) in almost non-sensical stories that never fail to leave a smile and a laugh on my lips.
So, I present to you, from January 4, 1955, a parody of George Orwell's acclaimed novel '1984' entitled...…….
'1985'!
Enjoy!
Brian
