Dry eyes

I have severe dry eyes tonight and it’s making things more blurred. It is setting my anxiety off cos I’m worried Incase I go blind as I have read dry eye can sometimes cause blindness! 😩😥 I’ve just put some dry eye drops in but it hasn’t made a difference. I have been outside all night in the freezing cold weather so can this cause dry eyes or not?

I don’t know the medical reasoning for the dry eyes and being outdoors but I can say that I have experienced the same issue as you with the dry eyes when I’ve been out in cold and/or wind for an extended period of time. Not sure what type of drops you used but the newer type ones not the “get the red out” type but artificial tears type works much better and my eye doctor advised me to keep mine in the fridge to help bring more relief and it’s definitely helped. Hope you get some relief soon.

I’m using hycosan eye drops which I bought from the opticians but they aren’t the stronger ones. They are just for mild dry eyes. Maybe I need to try different ones. My nose and throat feel really dry too so not sure if it’s all just down to the cold and windy weather. It easily sets anxiety off though ☹️
