Hi. I'm new here. Anyone else feel like they're just going through the motions day after day? Like, what is the point of it all? I feel like I'm just doing the bare minimum each day and this continually makes me feel regret.

I think of regret as being mindful, therefore the feelings of regret are just data. This data can be learned from and used to initiate change. You may ask yourself how doing the minimum is serving you. If it is not serving you in a good way, I would suggest trying to do more. If you actually do more, take a moment to recognize your accomplishment and honor your effort. Then check how you are feeling.

Just know that by trying this you will already be doing way more than the minimum, so keep the momentum going.

I agree with you about the vicious cycle. Its definitely hard. I think the regret comes from letting others in my family down too. I'm not being the best mother or wife I was in used to be. I think sometimes, what's the point? I'm not helping anyone. I'm not suicidal. I know what I'm providing for my kids is better than nothing, but sometimes I just feel uniquely stuck. Thanks for listening

Oh isn’t it frustrating when there’s lots you want to do or feel you ought to do but don’t have the inclination to do any of it?

I can and do fall down that hole regularly. Procrastination could be my middle name!

When I’m in it I try to list the things I have done instead of focusing on what I haven’t.

And I try to be kind to myself - we’re human “beings” not human “doings”.

You just being is enough - anything else is a bonus xx
