I'm 42 and have been experiencing anxiety for the past year or so. When I was a teenager I had panic attacks but out grew them. To have to deal with them again at this time of my life is odd to me. I'm wondering if our hormones effect our anxiety. I really don't have much information or knowledge about them. I just know they suck. I broke into hives last year due to stress and my throat got tight so now I fear this will happen again and I won't be able to breath. I have a constant lump feeling in my throat. Not sure where to turn for help...

Hormones and anxiety
sorry to hear you had such a severe physical reaction, ... that's very difficult to fear that happening again.... are you in therapy by any chance.
Hiya, I can resonate with your post so much. I’m 44 and for the last few years have fought anxiety and I’m too convinced that hormones pay a big part in this role infact if you look up hormones particularly with our age now peri menopausal women have a tough time with anxiety sometimes. As for the lump in your throat look up globus hystericus. Back in 2015 I went months feeling this and was checked out by ENT specialist. She told me that all was ok and that it was Globus Hystericus. No joke the following week it went. The feelings we get are real and the loop with the thoughts exasperate our anxiety levels. It is horrid your are going through a difficult time. If your in the U.K. there is iapt referrals you can do yourself without seeing a GP. However if it puts your mind at ease maybe chat to your doctor x
Have you seen a doctor for your throat issue, maybe you should just to make sure everything is ok, just concerned when you said you have a hard time breathing, and I think that alone can cause you to have anxiety.
May God Bless You! 💜
