Thanks. It’s really difficult when you need to apply that for yourself sometimes

People get better and get worse as well(depending on situation in life, crisis with health, money, relationship, etc. might cause anxiety and depression worsening). But it is something which can be controlled, by different tools, medical and self-help. This is my experience. Don't lose hope and keep going! Hugs and support to you!

Yes. I have been much better for 2-3 years now. But I have to keep working at it by taking medication, meditating, and therapy. What are you doing to get better?

I’m not on medication - i want that to be my last resort. I just got diagnosed so i try to do more exercising as suggested by my therapist. In also try to do more stuff i enjoy instead of working all the time. I’m still trying to figure out what triggers the attacks.

Ok, it takes awhile to figure out what works best for you. Be patient with yourself as you’re figuring it out. Things will get better.

Exercise is good. It burns off adrenalin.

Yes, I think so depending on their personal situations.

If you find as many coping mechanisms as you can, it can be managed. Moderate exercise, a good diet, and different types of therapy are all tools in your toolkit.

My favourite is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

He Lakewolf i keep hearing about this Cognitive Behavior. Is it some sort of meditation app? What do you like about it? I’m so glad it’s working for you :)

It’s a form of therapy that aches you how to replace inaccurate thoughts with accurate ones.

I think there may be info on it on Google.

Yes the CBT is my next approach. I will get to it in my next session with the therapist. Hope it works for me.

Yes we can and yes we do. I have been dogged all my life by depression, what has helped the most is medication. I have been physically active, i.e. going to a gym for 7 years, walking daily, golfing, hiking etc., but they did not keep the depression away, and the latest insult has been crippling anxiety. I have been seeing a psychiatrist who has tried med's and finally seems like he has hit on the right combination. The one that has really helped is a new one called Viibryd, I hope I can get in a program to get it free, or discounted as it is very expensive. Exercise IS a big plus, and I love support groups, or group therapy. Hope this helps. Keep coming back, we are here to help you and seek your help and support also. I send you love & hugs. I say yes. I felt like crap at the beginning of the year like I felt hopeless but the more I started to understand my anxiety and depression I started feeling a bit better. It took time but now its 9 mths later and I'm not going to lie I actually do feel alot better. I smile more I go out a bit more and I talk more. I'm not better all the way but I say I'm half way their. Hope you start feeling better. We got this.

I am finally getting relief after a medication change and new diagnosis. I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 instead of MDD. Lamictal is helping a lot. It takes the edge off so I can use my coping skills effectively.

Yes it can get better. I've delt with it on and off most of my life so there were times when I felt pretty good. Major stress always brought mine on.

Yes yes yes. I have been so much with anxiety and depression and I hit rock bottom. I thought it wasn’t going to end, but I promise it will get better. I started taking medication and with that I was able to cope with my inner thoughts. It has been over two years since I’ve attempted suicide and I’m still here and I’m doing great. You will get there too, I promise.

😊 for me it doesn't go away but I keep learning new ways on how to cope and to have an open mind to try new things. that helps my anxiety and depression to come less often and with less force 🌸

In what ways do you cope?

in reply to Smeantha

when I am feeling really anxious I try not take to many things on. i tell the people around me that I am battling. if I need time out, even at work, i just take a break. anxiety is a daily problem so one day at a time - fresh air, exercise, music, word puzzles even colouring in. depression is tricky. it can creep up on me sometimes. when it starts I try push it away or try ignore it. I can only pretend for so long that I am OK. it's a slow process to come right. I have a list of things that make me feel better, like : walking, bubble bath, baking, puzzles etc. when I am depressed it's like i forget what i like or you don't care about it. so when I start feeling a bit better, which could be a while, i can start working through the list. its not easy, during a depression episode you may definitely think a bubble bath won't help but it's the step in the right direction 😉
