Hmmm, not sure about that but have heard that vitamin D can help relieve depression.

I'm not sure, however I had a vitamin D deficiency and was getting ill a lot. I have been on supplements for a while and have noticed that I no longer get ill as often.

I have been suffering from pretty bad depression this past year. It was the worst it has ever been and i was really low. I went to the doctor for a regular checkup and found out my vitamin D levels were really low so the doctor had me start taking vitamin d. Idk if it is a placebo effect or something else, but i feel like vitamin d has really helped me! i feel significantly better than i did. no my depression isn't gone, but it is definitely more tolerable and i feel a million times better. so i think it is worth a shot to see if it helps you!

Having had a vitamin d problem I think the symptoms that arise from vitamin deficiency can mimic depression. Which can lead to anxiety.

Could be . Hypothyroidism could and vitamin b 12.

It depends . If you are depression is situational, hormonal, or lacks deficiency.

Anxiety is a whole wide varying spectrum.

Wish you well

I’m not sure if it causes a full-blown depressive episode, but I think it contributes to our problems, as does hypothyroidism. I think it’s helpful to correct these problems though. Very helpful. Wishing you peace! 🙂🌷🙂

Yes, it does. 4 years ago, I was at Rock bottom with uncontrollable anxiety and couldn't even get out of bed or care for my child properly. I almost wrecked my marriage and lost custody of my child. It was the most horrible time of my life. I began seeing a psychiatrist that my therapist recommended and before she prescribed any long term meds, she did a full blood work up. My Vitamin D levels were 4. They're supposed to be 50! She started me on a weekly super high injection of Vitamin D and now I take 5000 IU per day. My levels are still low, but since taking them and Lexapro, my mental state has improved at least tenfold. .

Don't automatically assume you're deficient and that it's a magic cure though. Ask for blood work to be sure. High doses of any supplements should only be taken under supervision of a medical professional because of possible serious side effects and medication interactions.
