One place that I can find peace inside of the chaos that fills my life

Where do you find a quiet place
Very nice...beautifully shaded! I simply enjoy sitting in my garage, which has turned into the man-cave, and watching the birds and squirrels! I see sweet little bunnies scampering around before the sun comes up! When I really need a dose of nature, I head toward the mountains, which are only about an hour away. Nature is amazing! There’s nothing like getting your hands dirty planting/tending to flowers! Mother Earth is good...🌷🌞🌷
I like your garden layout, are you going to do any nice smelly flower vines on your lovely trellis? Nothin like a nature fix.... we were going to go out to mushroom and berry pick... but the rain came... that's okay though... we are happy... will try again tomorrow.....
You sound quite peaceful today faux! I’m happy for you! Enjoy the rain...it would be a welcome relief from the heat we’re experiencing in my neck of the woods! Have a great weekend!
Yes some tranquility in the midst of life’s storm Kinda like the eye of a hurricane for wife is still asleep Learning that this is my quiet time Plenty of sunshine and warm temps here no rain in sight But can feel the coolness in the early morning hours just before the breaking of a new day
Oh I had done some really good work with my partner and we haggled out some solutions to help things around here improve...and it makes a world of difference too that I'm on the up swing with my disease thankfully....
Thanks Grow mostly vegetables in garden area Have green beans actually Chinese yard beans that can have pods up to three feet yes feet not inches Some bitter melon one another which is starting to flower Berry picking sounds great No rain here just plenty of sunshine and heat though can feel coolness in morning before sunrise Change of seasons is in the air
I've cooked those beans a few times, they were in a local Asian market where I used to live....living in Japan as a kid, and in Little Saigon in Westminster for many years, I've always integrated my diet with a lot of cultural influence, middle eastern, Italian, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese, as well as Vietnamese which is really interesting. But I've never used bitter mellon.... what do you cook it with?...
A good question! My quiet place is in my room - I'm alone but not lonely and I feel comfort and safety.
Boy 1221john, that place would work for me.
A perfect escape to meditate and deep breathe.

This is a great thread.
A quiet place to meditate is something I keep working to create.
My challenge, my mind races so much with any and all thoughts that I have moments where I need tv or Netflix show to give my mind something to focus on.
Has anyone successfully moved from needing a distraction like tv to a quiet meditation place? I assume it will take time to adjust and practice to make that transition.
My best to everyone on this journey and thanks for sharing!
Hi. I remember once when I was depressed, I used to need distraction, too - YouTube videos was mine (no TV in my room). It was the only way I could get to sleep - my mind/brain (whatever causes thoughts!) was having down thoughts and I couldn't "turn them off" on my own.
These days I don't need the videos to sleep anymore. I didn't actively seek to eliminate that need, but as I started to treat myself better (not blame myself for everything and not be so hard on myself), I started to feel calmer. I don't know exactly what your situation is, but I hope you find support! Best to you!
