Starting Zoloft

In the past, I have tried buspar and celexa. Celexa made me suicidal and since then I've been afraid of trying another antidepressant. To be honest I'm afraid but it might help a lot. All I can do is try right?

yep...just be able to contact your doctor as soon as possible if your thinking your having any side effects....

I’ve been on a lot of meds and most have side effects. I’ve had benefits from Zoloft though as long as it’s a low dose, I get side effects from larger doses and severely when tapering down from high doses. So I’m staying on 50 mg.

Hey Jasmine, for me Zoloft or generic sertraline was the least effective of the SSRI’s that I tried. But everyone is different. It took me a while to find the right combination, for me it was Effexor XR, Wellbutrin SR, and Klonopin. Make sure your PCP, or Psychiatrist are including you in the process. Please speak up if your medications aren’t working. It usually takes 2 weeks to get the full effect.

So far, the only major difference is in my energy level in the mornings. I'm increasing my dose in 2 days from 25mg to 50mg... Hopefully I see more changes in my motivation and mood.
