I keep creating negative scenarios in my head

I’ve been creating sad scenarios in my head unintentionally. I can’t control it at all. I haven’t been diagnosed with anxiety nor depression, but I have many symptoms of anxiety. I haven’t gone to the doctors or have any medication I can take. I don’t have much access to get any help. Please give me some advice for these scenarios/situations

I know exactly how you feel with these negative, uncontrollable scenarios happening in your head. I have gone through the same thing myself. It's absolutely terrible and it can distract you from your everyday activities and affect your health. My only suggestion is for you to find a distraction against it, read a book, watch a movie, talk with friends. Getting yourself is a good way to not have time for these negative scenarios and always, always remember that these scenarios aren't real and that your life is actually so much better and there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Good luck and stay strong, my friend :) .

I completely agree distractions are key. It might take some time to get into the groove of distraction. Best of wishes.

Distractions are good when it’s really stressful but the truth is u want to let those thoughts stay in your mind. Don’t fight them. Embrace them. It’ll be painful at first but eventually they get less potent. You desensitize yourself after time.

I do the same thing. I’ll have vivid day dreams of bad scenarios where I end up homeless, or my friends leave me, or I never find someone to settle down with. It’s awful.

Yoga and meditation have both helped me a lot. Even using the app “Headspace” has helped me some.

Sounds like you are experiencing intrusive thoughts and yes I believe they are a symptom of anxiety. The more you try to fight them the more they tend to upset you and stick around. Tell yourself that you are allowed to have any thought. Thoughts come and go like the wind and do not reflect who you are as a person. You are in good company.
