I am going to Denver and Morrison, Colorado in two weeks and I am having anxiety about the possibility of altitude sickness. Many have told me it is unlikely at that altitude, but I feel nervous, as I understand many of the symptoms are similar to those of anxiety - trouble breathing, dizziness, nausea.
Has anyone on here had anxiety or altitude issues at this elevation (5-7,000 feet about sea level)? Any suggestions on how to prevent altitude sickness?
Thanks in advance.

if you have never had altitude sickness before then I wouldn't worry about getting it. Of course with health anxiety it isn't that easy to dismiss fears.....what have you done with other health anxiety issues to cope with them and calm yourself, maybe you can use some of the same techniques that have worked for you in the past.
Hi there 🙂... I’m really rubbish at flying, and I get myself so anxious beforehand. I went to see my Doctor a few years back, explained my situation. I was prescribed short term use Diazepam tablets, told not to drink alcohol, but drink plenty of water. When I used to hit a certain height, the pain in my ears would awful, so I always keep boiled sweets just in case. To be honest, the tablets calmed me right down, and I tend to sleep. Might be worth a try.
