The social gathering will be over soon. I was anxious for no reason. Everything went fine, no one insisted I have to do anything which I could not or did not feel like it to do. And also I have some inspiration here: I saw people who are going thru difficult time, even had some tragic events in their lives, and they go thru those events with dignity and courage. It helps me to be around people like that and learn from them.
I am not sure it makes sense ? Does anyone have similar experiences?
Thank you for supporting me before my trip when I felt so anxious.

I am so happy to hear the gathering went well. So often we tend to work ourselves up over nothing. Yes, I feel better when I am with others who understand struggles. It helps me know I am not alone and it encourages me. Thanks for sharing this. It is very encouraging. I will be praying the next time a situation comes up that you are able to avoid getting worked up and anxious and can relate back to how smoothly this event went. Hugs!
Yes, this is very often with me. But I still do it in my mind before a lot of events: thinking of the worst scenario. What I manage to do in most cases: not avoid those events and experiences regardless of anxiety. But I still have work to do and learn not to afraid to get out of my comfort zone.
It makes total sense. I have experienced the same for family get togethers, high school reunions and even with friends. For some strange reason I think that everyone else's lives are probably perfect but it is reassuring to learn everything has struggles (not happy that they have struggles, you know what I mean...)
