Talking to someone older feels different, since my anxiety have been through the roof lately i found a little peace with my 90 year old neighbor. Listening to stories about when she was young, how she make fun of my generation's taste in music and i swear she make the best cookies and pumpkin pies.my mind is not on overdrive, my thoughts are not spiraling out of control and i can just relax on her lazy chair..... im grateful for this moment
Im not sure what it is about being ar... - Anxiety and Depre...
Im not sure what it is about being around older women that bring me a little peace of mind
That sounds like an awesome neighbor. So cool you have her to talk to & bond with. I loved talking to my husband's grandparents when they were alive. We were very lucky to have them living so close by. Glad you are finding a little peace. Been thinking of you. ❤🌻❤
Ps. Now I want pumpkin pie 😄
Mel how are you feeling ? Lol and pumpkin pies are my favorites
Grandmothers are usually surrounded with good energy they bring peace and of course cookies lol
100% true
You live long enough you learn not to judge other people and appreciate them for who they are. Your neighbor accepts you for who you are.
She's very calming to me and i do love the cookies lol
I LOVE THIS POST !!! You are so right! What a lovely lady she sounds and full of peace and wisdom. I know exactly what you mean and your post conjures up a wonderful picture in my mind. xxxx
💜 thank you. She's definitely full of peace, hanging out with her was just what i needed
It's true! I've surrounded myself with older, more grounded, people. I'll get together with them and they somehow find the grace to listen to my complaining, whereas younger people, even my son, have like zero patience to listen to my struggles. Thank God for the older, wiser and more patient people we have in our lives!

The conversation was definitely different and i enjoyed listening to her talk about the past
It is so true what you say. I miss my Gran and Nana because they always had stories about when they were growing up that would make you laugh and wonder. Sometimes I feel like that older person. I was having a conversation about studying with my niece and nephew they were fascinated that when I was at school (early to mid 1980's) that were was no google or internet and that we didn't have a computer at home. They thought it was funny that we only had books and the library. I felt really old that day, but it goes to show how much things have changed. I was reminded about that time and I sometimes miss it because there weren't the pressures of social media and the impatience that comes with messages being delivered in seconds.
You are very lucky to have a neighbour that is happy to spend time with you. You will have both gained from your visit as I am sure she really liked and enjoyed your company too.
Remember that visit when you are feeling down as that will help you.
Take care.
Great post by the way.
Lol it was so different from the normal stories its nice hearing how simple some things were back then no social medias which right now is the main cause of bullying and making kids feel bad about themselves. Her teenage years sounded amazing
What a lovely post! So glad you have someone who has that kind of affect on you. Jealous of the pumpkin pie!! Can I hang out with her too?? 😂😂
Really lovely post 💕
Lol i refuse to share her pumpkin pies but I'll give you some of those cookies lol. She really is amazing
You know what I know exactly what you mean ! I love older people that have this mad way of making you feel at ease without even meaning to. Maybe because they didn’t grow up in such a messed up generation and they know something we don’t 🤔
I think thats exactly right, their lives and surrounding were better than ours
Life was so much easier back in the good old days!!! I hope you're having a good day so far!!! Hugs!!! XXX
Her childhood sounded amazing. I feel okay today which is great. Have a nice day hun 🌻💜💜💜
It was tough for them but in a different way!!! Nothing like it is now!!! Peace!!! XXX
It's sooo great to have some peaceful moments! And she makes treats for you, awesome! I'm coming over haha
Hope your day is going good so far!
I agree! Older people (like myself) can have a very calming affect and, in some cases, don't even realize that we do. Its the #1 reason I miss my Mom so much. She's been gone for 5 yrs. now but some days I just wish I could pick up the phone & call her.
I'm sorry for your loss, I can't imagine life without my mom, and yes older people have a calming effect especially my sweet neighbor, she's amazing
