Hey anxiety and depression fam! Yesterday I took my first perscription from a psychiatrist. Hydroxyzine hcl 10mg is for anxiety. I also have depression and Im not currently taking anything for it. I took my first dose (I am to take as needed) last night and it didnt seem to do anything. Today I took 2 pills and wow. I didnt realize how my anxiety played into my depression....i feel so free! Anybody taking or have taken Hydroxyzine?

Yes it’s great for situational stuff and to lessen the severity of my panic attacks. Unfortunately it makes ya drowsy too.

It helps take the edge off negative emotions. I get a knot in my throat if someone talks about the passing of a loved one or anything anxiety elicting. Its not so strong a drug that you dont feel your emotions it just keeps me from actually crying. I was prescribed 10mg to take 3x a day last week but taking 20mg twice a day works best for me. I do feel a bit tired but the anxiety relief outweighs this for now for me. Please could you tell me the side effects you have heard of?

I have taken it a few times before and it has t done anything for me. I have only taken 25mg at a time so may that’s why it didn’t really do anything for me so maybe I’ll try 50mg next time I start having a panic attack and see if they calm me down. I’m glad they are working for me!
