What do you do when you feel totally alone and even when you try to think rationally, without letting emotion get in the way, and you still feel totally alone?

What do you do when you feel alone
I’ve been there since Friday. I have had my favorite comedies on TV, a few romantic comedy movies and one of my favorite tv series The Office. Laughing has been helping me this weekend.
I usually do The Office too but now I've seen it about 8 times through so I'm trying to give myself a break. I actually read an article about why people like rewatching shows like The Office so much and it has to do with how comforting it is that you know the characters and you know what's going to happen and what the set looks like and everything. I also think The Office is great because no matter what I'm anxious about, I know Michael and some of the other characters will always have something more socially terrifying going on lol.
Thanks for your response- I hope you get out of this lonely period soon.
honestly....I'm rarely ever alone in my home....we always have someone coming and going and if I do feel a bit isolated at times....what works for me is to interact on this site. It is really nice to have the little ones, and my partner around...but this disease can make you feel alone only because of the chemical imbalance I get low, but it's part of the disease that your feeling that way so I have to try and remember that.
I like to read and play my piano. Do you have any similar hobbies?
I used to like painting and it helped when i could really throw myself into it but lately it hasn't been helpful in distracting myself. I want to teach myself to write poetry (or find a class) to have something creative to do and to better relate to my bad experiences/feeling but not quite sure how to get started. Are you able to get lost (in a good way) in your reading?
i like painting and poetry as well, but i feel like these activities usually amplify my feeling of loneliness and negative thoughts. or is this just me?
Yes, I can get lost in my readings and especially playing the piano, in a good way. I mean, I do have to come back to reality afterwards, but it fuels and soothes my soul to give myself some down time. Do you write on a daily basis? I think poetry can be any kind of writing, honestly. I'm pretty sure there are poetry clubs and groups on social media! I'm not too into poetry but you might be able to find something like that.
i like to build and design LEGO houses (with a comedy show on in the background) it really helps me relax and take my mind off bad thoughts and instead direct them to something more positive and creative. if i’m feeling extremely lonely, i resort to talking to people on this site or instagram so that i know someone cares and is out there to listen
You take a first step like reaching out to this group which I commend you for. It's the same reason I reached out to this group. This past weekend I was feeling incredibly alone. Like I had no single person I could talk to. Everyone gets it here. I have anxiety and sometimes isolate myself too much. I have to push myself sometimes to go out and maybe just sit in starbucks with a coffee and a newspaper to be around other people. I do have a friend we go out to lunch occasionally but sometimes even doing that can be hard. She is a good friend but we both have huge struggles so it's hard to dish too much to her as I know she has her own big hurdles to jump over. I have my family....my husband and my daughter who I love. It's just that it is hard to really talk to my husband. He has been emotionally closed off for a long time and does not really get when I am depressed. My daughter is the joy of my life though and she is who will always keep me going. Loneliness is an awful feeling though and I hope this group will help you feel less along. It helps me alot. Sending you a hug.
