I am pretty frustrated. My husband snores every night. He has tried a C-pap machine, had nasal surgery, sleeping on his side and other positions, and tried the snoring strips. Nothing seems to work and I struggle every night to fall asleep. I use ear plugs, a head mask with a speaker that I play white noise. He is a great man and husband but this is causing animosity between us. Plus, I don't get enough sleep most nights and I am tired and grumpy the next day. I know he doesn't mean to snore but I am at my wits end. Anyone have these struggles to or have suggestions what we can do?

Can you move into another room a few nights per week?
Thanks for the advice. I have done that, but we travel a lot and we are in the same room together and there is no place to go.
Looks like you are stuck with it then 😞
Buy ear plugs or sleep in a different room problem solved.
I have ear plugs and I do go into a different room when I can. Unfortunately, we travel a lot and I don't have another room to go to.
Is his C-pap mask properly fitted ? Does he have facial hair? I only ask because I where a C-pap and do have facial hair. I went through a bunch of masks to find the right one. Once I found that perfect mask my snoring stopped. Thanks John
My husband has a stuffy nose most of the time even after he had nasal surgery. He says when his nose is stuffed the C-pap machine doesn't work. Thanks for your input.
He can go to a full face mask and an auto titration CPAP. They are designed for upper airway congestion. Call the sleep specialist and tell them your issue, there are many different modes of positive pressure that can be implemented to overcome this issue. I do this for a living and it’s a common problem, that can be overcome.
I may not be the best fit for giving advice but my father is a very loud snorer. He also drinks a lot of beer throughout the day. If your husband drinks a lot of alcohol and not cleaning it all out before sleep, it may cause blockage of his oxygen intake. If he doesn’t drink alcohol maybe get him a navage nostril cleaner. Use the nostril cleaner, then apply a couple drops of peppermint oil under his nostrils, after you have done that you can apply the c-pap machine and sleep. If it doesn’t work, I am sorry. Sometimes snoring can come from infection in the respiratory system.
Can he go back to the doctor and see what else can be done or even the company that provided the CPAP? Does he need re testing? In the mean time- is there another place in the house you can go so you can get some rest?
Yes I’m an RT, in the acute care setting. No a sleep study isn’t needed, just a mode change with the current machine and a full face mask. All NIPPV machines have humidification. Since there has been a corrective action sinus wise, with little relief, full face mask is indicated at this time. He will feel much better.
I will talk to my husband about looking into a full face mask. His concern is how do you breathe out. Thanks for your insight
