I’m new to HealthUnlocked and am hoping to chat with others who are also struggling with anxiety. I recently began treatment and am journaling. I love my therapist and am hopeful things will improve but as of now, every day is difficult. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

My first therapist was only interested in meds. I don’t think I’m someone who can move forward without talking through stuff. It’s helped me to understand why I feel the way I do.
I'm the same way. This therapist I'm seeing seems great. Like, she really wants to help me and, ironically, it's my PCP that's pushing meds. But they should help too.
I’m sorry about the late reply. We’ve been on vacation. I definitely think that meds can be part of treatment, but I also think that, at least in my situation, I have to do some really hard work to deal with this.
I saw my therapist again today. She warned me that what I need to do is going to be a lot of hard work AND I'm not always going to feel better when I leave her office.
It is hard work. It has to be, otherwise if it were easy we would need the meds and professional help right? But I'm the same way, I need to talk things through. I don't process well on my own, I just spin my wheels in my mind.
I apologize for the late reply. We’ve been on vacation. I absolutely think it helps. One of my problems is that I don’t feel safe anywhere. I’m always so relieved to go home because I feel like there’s nowhere near as much of a chance that something will happen to get my anxiety going. My therapist’s office is one of the few other places I feel safe. I also just really like her as a person and she’s really good at helping me understand why I feel the way I do.
