So my mum has started saying I’ve gotten fat and need to loose weight and this knocked my confidence down a lot. I am so insecure already. I agree anti depressants have made me gain weight but at 8 stone 4 this is the heaviest I have ever been and I’ve never been so depressed.

Mum called me fat
Hi Elleeee!
I understand how you’re feeling. I’m sorry that you have to go through this. You’re right about the medication, it does help us gain weight. It just feels out of control and brings us down, keeping us isolated. My adult daughter has gained weight and she’s so self-conscious about it. I would NEVER say anything to her or anyone else about their gaining weight. No one knows better than the person gaining! I would try to ignore your Mother or leave the room when she brings it up. You will know when you’re ready to work on loosing weight. Don’t be too hard on yourself and start off with baby steps! If it’s any consolation, I think you’re beautiful, capable, warm and ready to live your life with a positive outlook! Hugs!!
Thankyou very much that’s nice of you to say!
Hi Elleeee,
I’m sorry that your mom called you fat. When I was about 18 I was a skinny girl, very skinny for years even after having 2 kids. I’m not skinny any more.
I realized that my mother had been chubby all her life and she would say things to me like I have fat legs or some other fat anatomy. I was skinny. That was my mother’s problem and it was hurtful to me.
I had to work that out in my head.
Don’t let your moms words get into your head. Do what you can for yourself if you want to lose weight. Drink more water, cut back on caffeine and bread. Go for walks. Any exercise is good for your body and mind! And if you’re up to it—let your mom know the next time she mentions you’re fat—tell her that doesn’t make you want to lose weight.
Just be you. You’re beautiful, kind and sensitive. Take care of you. 😁
I consider myself to be fluffy! 😂😂😂😂. There are a lot of fluffy people out there. 😁
