Beating myself down
You shouldn't beat yourself up.
We should never compare our struggles with the struggle of others Imo. We are all going through our own issues and pain. The best we can do is try to be there for each other while working on ourselves.
Your pain is real. Her pain is real. Use that as a way to connect to each other and not disconnect.
Not everyone may have all the symptoms of an illness no matter what the illness is. Anxiety can make us feel like we are being overly dramatic. That is why a common symptom of anxiety is feeling like we may die but we aren't. It's the illness. It isn't us.
There are so many things in life in which some people will have things better and some people will have things worse than we do. Everyone is dealing with something and we all have different tolerance levels. So if we focus on not comparing and just try to be kind to ourselves and to others, that goes a long way. Do you feel like you could try to be more encouraging for your friend and more accepting of yourself?
