I just started the generic version of Lexapro. It’s been really tough especially these last 2 weeks. I’ve read it takes time but I just want to make sure it’s not just me. I get every moody and angry and my anxiety is way worse then when I started. I feel very hopeless and have no desire to do anything. I usually don’t. But now I have even less desire. All I want to do is sleep and not be bothered.

Hi Crod0214, I hardly remember the side effects when starting the generic of Lexapro 5 years ago. I do remember it taking time 4-6 weeks. For me, the medication has been the best answer for me. No tiredness, feel clearheaded and alive. I can only hope within the next few weeks, you get the same results. Since medication is not the full answer, therapy can help as well as finding other tools that will reduce your symptoms. I use Meditation and Deep breathing daily.

Wishing you better days ahead. :) xx

I forgot to ask. Did this pill make you hungrier? Or less hungry? Weight gain or loss? I know it says there may be weight changes and I’m honestly much hungrier than usual. Which adds to my anxiety because I’ve struggled with weight and my appearance my entire life.

I'd say hungrier as well as weight gain. :(

How many mgs are you taking? I take 10 mgs and my doctor said that 20 mgs may cause anxiety.

I haven't noticed any change in appetite since taking Lexapro.
