Hello everyone. Since my depression and anxiety have been super overwhelming I finally decided to see a psychiatrist and he recommended meditation and exercise regularly. I am a very determined person and I am going to try to exercise and really put my mind into meditating.
Has anyone tried this before?

Hi RaqXo, I highly recommend it. Meditation is a daily thing for me. Don't wait until you need it. Finding that quiet "me time" several times a day will allow your Mind/Body to relax. We need that respite from our anxious state. Exercise is a great way to move those muscles and release the pent up adrenaline. Benefit is not only reducing the adrenaline but also giving us an Endorphin High. Go for it
Practice makes perfect...you are taking that first step forward.
Thanks guys. I’ll let you know how everything goes. I am also trying to become more spiritual. Anyways we will see how everything goes. Thank you for the support!
That’s awesome. For me I’ve been taking and using any bit of spirituality that my souls is attracted to, and leave the rest, so I end up finding bits from all over and incorporate them into my life. Best to you in becoming more spiritual!
Does meditation really work? I find it so difficult to meditate and tbh I don’t really understand what meditation is. Whenever I try to go to a meditative state I end up thinking stupid thoughts and what ifs? Is this meditation? I don’t expect meditation to solve my problems but I’m willing to try anything, I only want to knoe how to do it properly. I hope that this has worked for you and wish you the best of luck in finding the answers you need. I hope that doesn’t sound patronising, it certainly isn’t intended that way. Depression is such a huge subject with so many angles and interpretations it is difficult to know how to be properly sensitive and empathetic at the same time as not sounding sycophantic.
It works for me but I think it does take practise. I use YouTube videos, there’s lots of them to choose from and I guess we will all like different ones. Jason Stephenson has some I like. X
Hi. It’s my 3rd day meditating consecutively and I’m really liking it. I do the Japa meditation that consists of repeating a mantra and using beads. I’ve done meditation before so I have experience but I’ve always dropped it because I was too impatient. My dr said I have to keep doing it until i see results. So I’m running 3 miles after work and I come home and I start to meditate. So far my symptoms have lessened and I’m not waking up with a cloud in the morning. But I’ll let you know how it goes as I keep going.
