Good Morning Speechpat.... Morning Anxiety is almost a given. The levels of cortisol start early morning in rising so that by the time you open your eyes, the levels are high. Going back to the days of having to hunt for food, living in fear of being attack by animals and basically fighting for each and every breath you took. Today, all that adrenaline has no where to go but to present itself as butterflies of fear in our solar plexus. Once that dreaded feeling is felt, the anxious person will get scared which then changes the heart rate and breathing allowing for other physical symptoms to appear. And now within moments of waking up, you have "fear of fear".
Using meditation both before sleep and upon awakening can help in reducing the adrenaline. Deep breathing helps immensely in quieting the mind and the body. Getting up and moving your muscles helps dispel that extra adrenaline as well as hydrating and having something to eat as the blood sugar has gone down during the night.
It is not dangerous but a fact of life. Once you learn to accept this feeling as a normal function of the body as well as use tools to quiet it down, you will no longer experience the feeling as a threat and be able to ignore it. You are not alone with this feeling Speechpat
Now make it a great day and be grateful that the feeling is a part of being alive. xx
Thanks Agora, great reply!
I use meditations to go to sleep and have started when I wake.
I suffer early morning anxiety too.
The meditating helps...
Kind wishes to you speechpat.

Thanks for your support. It’s easier to get through the rough time when you have great friends who have been there too.
It’s totally normal for this to happen! I used to get anxiety really bad in the morning when getting ready for work, I just felt like I couldn’t do it. I’m not 100% sure why it happens but just remember it will pass and panic attack don’t last longer than 20 minutes, you are very strong and I know you can overcome this! Hang in there and stay busy
