Hi I’m new here and was recently prescribed Buspar by my pcp for panic attacks. I’m very nervous about taking this med. She told me I could take it as needed but curious as to anyone’s experience with it. Mainly afraid of scary side effects.

Buspar??
Hi and welcome to you.
I’m sorry I’ve not take that particular med so no experience of it.
I think we all tend to react differently to meds and how it affects one may not be how it would affect you.
I’m very similar to you with taking of meds though, I get real anxious and worried about taking for the first time.
If I don’t have anyone to say ‘hey I’m taking a new med you mind if I give a call if I get bothered ‘ usually a family member who is aware, then I would take first one during daytime when gp surgery is open so any concerns I can call them, or go to pharmacy or call pharmacy. I have never had to use any of the aforementioned plans, it just helps to know I have something in place if I feel bothered.
They may really help you along the road to healing...I do hope so 🌺
Best wishes xx
Hi I too don't have any experience of taking this med but Olivia's advice is great. It's worth remembering too that all drugs have side effects and if you suffer any it's much more likely they are mild rather than severe. If the side effects were severe for too many users they wouldn't have been passed as fit for use would they. x
