Matthew feels well, but Annmarie is suffering from unipolar depression and PTSD. She is having a very difficult time with PTSD. Does anyone have any recommendation about how to deal with it? Thx.
Hi there, everybody. We are new here. - Anxiety and Depre...
Hi there, everybody. We are new here.
A warm welcome. I have a little personal experience with PTSD and decided to try therapy . I've been going for about 3 months now and beginning to understand some of my thought processes. Is this something you have tried?
Hi there. In all courteousness, we appreciate your warm welcome: that is very nice. Yes, we have tried therapy. We appreciate your asking. Matthew attends Annmarie to therapy. It is working well, thankfully. It is nice of you to ask. It seems yours is going well as well; that is great. In all courteouseness, how are feeling?
Hi, good to hear from you. I am still going to therapy and finding it useful. What I get out of it has changed over time. I find some days I cope better than others but I guess that's to be expected. Life can be a tough journey but I have to hold onto the belief that things will get better. My best wishes to you both X
Glad your here, it's a safe place to be an get lots of input from some very kind people, and I also wanted to tell you about the PTSD group here on this site too that has a lot of posts that are very helpful like the ones are here. I found a lot by reading others posts as well as being able to share my stuff too..
Hello to both of you! I hope u r both doing as well. Just wanted you to know ur not alone. I have severe depression, anxiety disorder, an eating disorder, fibromyalgia and to top it off, PTSD. I'd b happy to chat with you both or just offer support. My PTSD symptoms are or have been nightmares, flashbacks, feeling the 'flight, fight, or freeze' response in situations that are not life threatening, physical illness...just to name a few. These types of things Are Normal for people who experience PTSD, so know Annmarie, You Are Not Crazy. And Matthew, you must b a supportive man bc it's hard to not be able to make the pain go away. I have had friends who suffered from PTSD and it is not easy to watch.
Bless you both.
Hi there. In all courteousness, we are not doing well, truly. Oh, well... We appreciate your support. Matthew feels well, but Annmarie is not feeling well.
In all courteousness, it is great to know I am not crazy. PTSD is so painful and debilitating. My husband Matthew is highly vigilant about revictimisation. Please, be very, very careful of that youself since it can occur more simply than you may think.
Hello, this is Matthew Annmarie's husband. Kindly, I am a supportive man: I see and feel my poor wife Annmarie suffering. I am working through it for her. I will make the pain go away, permanently, no worries. Kindly, may you have a peaceful week. Thank you. - Matthew
Hello. I'm so happy to hear from u both. U sound like terrific and knowledgeable people.
I know what u mean about revictimization--I do that more than I'd like to admit! I can ruin a whole day with that..
The ptsd is painful, but we've survived what caused the ptsd so we are strong, Annemarie. I don't know what you have been through, but u survived. We r survivors. I don't always feel this way about myself, when the symptoms are at their worst, but it's gotten better. And it will for u too.
U sound like a very strong man, Matthew. It is wonderful that u r understanding. I believe when u say you'd take the pain away.
I hope ur both feeling better. ❤️ 💛 💚 Take good care
