Hi there-New person here.

So I just joined this group. Hi. Here's what I'll start off with: COVID-19 freaking sucks so much. I feel lonely most the time, I always miss my friends, and my life feels like it has no purpose over half the time. It sucks, not feeling purposeful. I miss going to school in person. I miss going out with friends. I miss eating at a restaurant. It's all the small things that add up to one big thing. And I feel like there's not many people around me who truly understand this feeling, either.

Anyways. That's all for now. Have a good day!

Hi welcome to the site. You will find lots of people on here are also stressed out by Covid19. Hang in there, it won’t last forever. All the best.

It had definitely triggered something in me worse than anything I’ve ever felt.

Hey Mother_Of_Two_Dogs. Welcome. I think we can all relate. This pandemic has been brutal in a variety of ways for everyone. And sadly, for so many of us, the pain we feel is going largely unnoticed or acknowledged. But this community is here for and with you. Feel free to reach out at any time.

Hey! Welcome to the community. You'll find plenty of lonely people here trying to navigate through this new way of life that the pandemic has forced on us. I was living like a hermit before COVID hit and was mostly ok with staying home most of the time. I now realize just how lonely I was and want to make new friends which would be hard enough by itself, but the virus just makes it that much harder.

If you ever need someone to listen or chat just send me a message. Hope this community can help you to feel better.

Hey Otaku. I second that. Making friends was a struggle before all of this.... and it's certainly even more difficult now. That was one of the reasons I joined this community... to hopefully find and build connections with others I might not have and to feel less alone and lonely. You're always welcome to send a message.

My only friend right now is my best friend that I've had since I was 10, and I'm 29 now, so I feel like I don't even know how to make friends anymore. Plus being out of school and being unemployed makes my options so limited, and even if I had options my social anxiety makes me want to run away anyway. Then the cycle starts of being lonely and depressed and wanting friends, but feeling incapable of making them. That's why I joined this community too and it's a little easier to talk to people, especially since I don't have to make eye contact and, if things go south (not that they ever have), I can always just shut my computer and return to being a hermit.

I hear that. It's great that you have a best friend though. Someone that sticks by you through everything. 19 years is an awfully long time to be friends.

But it's completely understandable to want to expand the friend base. Most of my friends are in relationships and focus on their lives, or they live in other States, so it's not so easy to meet up and have someone else to hang out with. So it's typically just me.... going through the motions just trying to make it through another day.

Not what you're looking for?
