My Dr switched me to lexapro 10 mg yesterday. Any idea when I might feel its affects. Not sure I am yet but I did get 6 hrs sleep with out a sleep aid.

Switched meds
Hello! So your doctor changed your medication and you were able to sleep. I know what that feels like, and it's good. Like a first positive step.
I had a similar experience but I have to tell you that in my case it was really just my lack of rest and hope that the medicine would help me sleep. Usually doctors tell you they take 4 to 6 weeks for you to feel the effect.
But a positive mind is always our best companion even though sometimes feels impossible to get there. And when it feels that way, my way of coping is reaching out to someone. It's one of the reasons that brought me here, having someone who understands and knowing you are not alone.
glad you got some sleep, that may be a first sign your meds are working, but they do take a week, two, or more to finally adjust to our body chemistry. Give it some time. The thing about antidepressants is there is not real 'AH HA!' moment, you just notice things are mellowing out a bit, you just don't have those big highs and lows....that's when you know it's working.
The mellow is here a bit can only get better.
